Socso will pay Compensation despite Non-Payment by Employers
KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- The Social Security Organisation (Socso)
will still pay compensation to registered workers although the employers did
not pay subscription, said Human Resource Deputy Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan.

reply to Senator Datuk Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah who asked about the status of
workers whose employers did not pay subscription but deducted their wages.
Maznah told Dewan
Negara that up to Dec last year, 724,290 employers had registered with Socso of
which 334,757 were active.
"Some 5,416 of the
active employers had failed to pay subscription to their workers. Socso
officers from all 45 branches nationwide had launched Ops Kesan to trace errant
She said Socso would
continue to promote and publicise this in the mass media so that employers
continue to protect the workers and abide by the law.
